90 Day: Asuelu’s Sneakiness Drives Kalani into the Arms of Her Hall Pass — Who Confesses to ‘Real Feelings’

On Monday’s ‘Last Resort’, Jovi Dufren also revealed a giant secret to Yara Zaya — in the company of his mother, no less — that further damaged her trust and put their baby bickering in a new light

Another cheating scandal has ignited on 90 Day: The Last Resort.

Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa’s relationship was in the spotlight after a few online escapades led to a night spent off resort grounds. There were a few laughs, more than few drinks and one member of the series who chose to go home after a failed attempt at reviving love.

Molly Hopkins said goodbye to her costars with a toast shortly after ex-boyfriend Kelly Brown left the resort single. Their breakup left Molly emotionally raw but in good spirits overall. “What I learned from this retreat is that I’m never gonna give up on love,” she said. “But I’m not gonna give in to the wrong love ever again.”

The wrong love remained a theme throughout the episode as couples questioned their fate — and their honesty — both in and out of therapy.

Kalani’s Other Lover Comes to Florida

The episode began with a heart to heart between Kalani and Elizabeth “Liz” Woods. It was the first time Kalani revealed Asuelu’s cheated repeatedly — not just one time like she had previously led their costars to believe. This admission allowed Liz to share her true thoughts on Kalani’s marriage.

“Asuelu is a piece of “s— in my eyes,” Liz said in an interview. “I would already be planning Ed’s obituary if I was in Kalani’s shoes.”

The women chatted about Kalani’s previous affair — which happened with Asuelu gave his wife permission to kiss someone else because of his own betrayals. That kiss led to an ongoing sexual relationship and feelings on Kalani’s part — though she ultimately blocked the man, Dallas, to focus on therapy with Asuelu.

That said, when Kalani spoke of Dallas, she couldn’t suppress a smile, prompting Liz to comment on the “light in [her] eyes.”

“He’s very sweet,” Kalani said of Dallas. “He’s the first guy I’ve dated who actually reciprocates what I do. I just feel torn because it’s like, do I pick the guy I have kids with who I’ve had to work so hard to even be friends? Or do I pick the person who came out of nowhere and made me actually believe there are nice guys out there and there are people that love you and you don’t have to work so hard for it?”

Later in the episode, Kalani claimed she saw Asuelu sneakily deleting texts from his phone, so she retaliated by unblocking Dallas on her own phone. Once his messages began to come through again, Kalani told the other women that Dallas “let me know all of his real feelings…. He decided to fly out, so he texted me to come see him and I spent the night there.”

As the episode ended, Asuelu was still in the dark about Kalani’s decision to rekindle the affair.

Yara and Jovi’ Secrets Come Out in Therapy — with His Mother

The rest of the episode focused mainly on Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren’s marriage, with his mom Gwyn joining the mix. A therapy session involving the trio led to huge revelations as Yara was forced to admit her secret to her mother-in-law.

Earlier in the season, Yara told Jovi she was secretly taking birth control because she wasn’t ready for a second child. Gwyn called the deception “a horrible thing to hide from your husband,” and urged the pair: “You guys need to communicate. You can’t just get on birth control and not tell him. That’s so wrong.”

The mother didn’t entirely side with Jovi, though — she also asked her son to be “come clean” about his own secret.

It turns out, Jovi had received a job offer for a desk job closer to his home — a very different set-up from the current role that had him traveling for months at a time. “I didn’t take it and I didn’t want to bring it up to Yara because I knew she wouldn’t understand,” he said.

Yara felt betrayed and abandoned, given she had been raising their daughter alone. “It’s kind of selfish, because you know we want you home,” she said of Jovi in an interview. “This is a problem since we got married, and he tried to keep it a secret, which is pissing me off.”

Yara confirmed she’d never force Jovi to take a job he wasn’t happy with — but, she said, she might have been more willing to give him a second child if he were around more consistently to partner with her as a parent.
