“GOLD” — Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 fans praise Aesha Scott about the fish knife situation

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 aired a brand new episode this week on Monday, August 12, 2024. During the segment, a new group of guests appeared on the show but as Captain Sandy described them, they were “difficult.” The guests caused a commotion about one of the couches being an “eyesore” followed by arguing about cutlery with the chief stew, Aesha Scott.

During dinner, one of the guests wondered why she was given a butter knife instead of a fish knife. This caused a disagreement between the guest and Aesha Scott. Insisting that it was a butter knife, the guest questioned the chief stew.

“Yeah, I’ve worked in service a very long time. That’s a fish knife. It’s because fish is not supposed to be tough. It’s supposed to be smooth, so it just cuts through,” Aesha stated.
Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 fans took to social media to react to the segment and praised Aesha Scott for how she handled the fish knife situation. One person wrote on X:

“Aesha schooling that guest on what is a fish knife and what is a butter knife was GOLD!! #BelowDeck #BelowDeckMed”

“Aesha checked that charter guest for wrongly complaining her knife was a “butter knife” when it fact it was a fish knife #BelowDeckMed #BelowDeck,” a fan commented.

The After Show airs after each episode of Below Deck Mediterranean during which, one or more cast members chime in on the events of the latest episode. This week on the show, Kate Chastain was joined by season 9 chief stew, Aesha Scott as they discussed the guests who appeared on the show in episode 11.

“This was the first time that I actually stood my ground a bit and it felt really good,” Aesha said.
The Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 star stated that typically she was an “old-school” yachtie, who would say “thank you” even if the guest spat in her face. Aesha added that she was trained like that.

Ellie Dubaich, a season 9 stew also commented on the situation and stated that it felt like the guest was “mocking” the Below Deck Mediterranean cast. She added that they made the cast feel like they didn’t know what they were doing. Ellie added that nobody would know what a fish knife was unless they had previously eaten at a fine dining restaurant before.
For the unversed, in season 9 episode 11 of the Bravo reality show, one of the guests disagreed with Aesha Scott over cutlery as she believed that she was given a butter knife instead of a fish knife. When the cast member corrected her, she said:

“Oh, she’s gonna school me.”
