Captain Sandy Yawn advises the Below Deck Med crew to own up to their mistakes and apologize to be forgiven and move forward.
The importance of having a moral compass and doing the right thing is emphasized by Captain Sandy on Below Deck Med.
Despite giving second chances, Captain Sandy might soon have to fire crew members who haven’t shown improvements on Below Deck Med.
Captain Sandy Yawn recently provided some excellent advice and a mantra that her Below Deck Mediterranean co-stars should take to heart. During Below Deck Med season 9, Captain Sandy has had to oversee a lot of drama from various crew members aboard the Mustique, especially Chef Johnathan “Jono” Shillingford and Iain Maclean, who have been accused of faking their poor performances, and Elena Dubaich and Bri Muller amid their escalating feud. So far, no one has been fired in Below Deck Med season 9, but that could soon change.

Captain Sandy Yawn revealed her own mantra in life, which included some advice that her Below Deck Med stars should take to heart.

In a recent interview with WHO magazine, Captain Sandy was asked whether she has a “mantra” that guides the way she lives her life. The reality star’s answer not only gave insight into her own personal approach to living her life, but it also unofficially provided some advice to her fellow Below Deck Med co-stars, whether she meant it or not. Sandy said that when someone makes a mistake, they need to say they’re sorry. “It’s so much easier. Then you’re free,” she explained, adding that “people will forgive you if you’re humble.”

Captain Sandy Might Need To Fire At Least One Below Deck Med Star

Captain Sandy said that people have a moral compass, and everyone knows when something is right or wrong. That’s why it’s important to own up to mistakes, learn from the situation and improve going forward. As she put it, “Just do the…right thing.” While the question was about her own mantra in life, her answer also provided some very wise advice that the Below Deck Med cast members she oversees on the Mustique should listen to and implement in their own lives.

Captain Sandy wants to lift people up instead of tear them down. Maybe that’s why she hasn’t fired anybody yet in Below Deck Med season 9. She’s trying to give her crew members the opportunity to learn and to grow from their mistakes. She has given second chances numerous times in her role as the captain on Below Deck Med. However, those second chances might soon be running out. Early on during Below Deck Med season 9, Chef Jono and Bosun Iain came under fire after they demonstrated poor skills in their respective roles.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Jono’s mistakes haven’t been at the forefront in recent episodes, but a mid-season trailer revealed that’s about to change. In an upcoming Below Deck Med season 9 episode, Jono will serve a dish that a charter guest is allergic to. The preview video shows a furious Captain Sandy ready to fire him, though there’s speculation the video is misleading and she’s actually talking about Iain. Either way, both of these Below Deck stars have not shown enough improvements, and if Sandy chooses to fire one or both of them, it’s because they didn’t own up to their mistakes.
