However, the famed crew leader had to step away from the series following mobility concerns, and he selected his friend Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck Mediterranean to step in and take his place. Recently, Captain Lee spoke to The Standard and told the outlet that he and Captain Sandy won’t be mending things anytime soon. He said, “You’d probably spend a better chance of seeing God twice in the next 30 seconds than that happening.”

Regarding no longer being on the show, he said, “I do miss it. I miss the traveling. I miss the challenges. And there’s certainly no lack of challenges on board, each one unique and different. So, yeah, I do miss it.”
The interviewer then asked if he had been approached about coming back. He explained, “No one has spoken to me about it, and if they would, I would tell you because that’s why they don’t tell me anything. I just can’t keep it to myself.”
Captain Lee remains busy despite no longer being on Below Deck. He hosts a pop culture podcast called Salty, and he also has a true crime show. However, fans would love to see “The Stud of The Seas” make a grand return.
