Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen have a deep-rooted rivalry that seemingly becomes worse on Below Deck Mediterranean season 8. The popular reality show has always been known for its feuds. However, the latest season seems the most dramatic due to the entertaining cast. Below Deck Mediterranean season 8 features a variety of popular names returning to join Captain Sandy Yawn’s team. One includes Luka Brunton, who previously appeared as lead deckhand on Below Deck Down Under season 2. Another is Tumi Mhlongo from Below Deck Down Under season 1.
Natalya and Kyle are also returning cast members from Below Deck Mediterranean season 7. Natalya is known for her wild personality and sassy attitude. She has a good work ethic, which may be why she secured a place in season 8. Natalya has nearly eight years of yachting experience, as she started working when she was barely 18. Like Natalya, Kyle was the second steward on Captain Sandy’s yacht last season. He’s also great at his job and manages to succeed while handling drama.
Natalya Was Excited To Work With Kyle Again
Natalya and Kyle’s friendship was always up and down, but things worsened when they returned to Below Deck Mediterranean. Initially, Natalya was excited that Kyle returned to work on season 8. She even pushed to share a cabin with him to be around a familiar face, and so they could talk. She said (via ET), “I needed support from a familiar face at that time and, yeah, all I can say is I was very excited for him to step on board.” Unfortunately, things didn’t go as Natalya had planned, leading to her feud with Kyle.
Their Friendship Went “Sour” Quick On Below Deck Med Season 8
In the same interview, Natalya claimed that things went “pretty sour” after she met Kyle during the filming of Below Deck Med season 8. She said, “There is a reason I got to that point,” adding that she would never want to work with her co-star again. Natalya explained, “I really depended on Kyle this season to help me get me through, and then we have a few conversations that also get me quite upset.” She hinted that Kyle wasn’t supportive and implied that he joked about her personal issues. However, Natalya didn’t directly mention Kyle’s name.

It doesn’t seem like Natalya and Kyle’s friendship lasted after Below Deck Mediterranean season 8. Natalya appears to be doing her own thing on social media and doesn’t follow her former crew member. She also appears to be single. In comparison, Kyle seems to be living his best life with his boyfriend. In November 2022, Kyle proposed to his boyfriend and got engaged. He posted a few romantic pictures from his special moment. Although it seems almost impossible, Kyle and Natalya will hopefully be able to mend their differences soon.
