They won’t be home for the holidays, but the kids are headed to visit Todd and Julie Chrisley in their respective facilities ahead of Christmas. For the actual day, Savannah Chrisley is planning to host her siblings at her home for their first Christmas with their parents behind bars.
It sounds like their dad could certainly use a pick-me-up…Todd recently went into detail about the horrifying conditions at the prison where he’s serving his sentence.
The Chrisley kids are figuring out new holiday traditions as Todd and Julie Chrisley serve their time.
This is the first Christmas that the parents will be behind bars and Savannah Chrisley is stepping up to host her family, according to Radar Online.
Don’t worry—they say that they’ll be making a special trip to visit Todd and Julie for the holiday season.
The couple’s attorney, Jay Surgent, told TMZ that is feeling defeated that he won’t be able to spend the holidays with his family.
He shared that the reality TV patriarch has been upset to be spending the season “around other inmates instead of loved ones.”
However, the lawyer had good news in an update for Radar.
Jay explained that Savannah is hoping to visit Todd in Florida as soon as possible, which may be this weekend. Grayson and Chase Chrisley are supposed to make their own trip to see their dad at FPC Pensacola.
As Julie is currently imprisoned at FMC Lexington, the Chrisley children will have to go to Kentucky at another point to see her.
Their attorney emphasized that the Chrisleys “are looking forward to getting together for the holidays — even if it’s at an institution.”

He shared that Savannah is hosting a “traditional” holiday dinner for her siblings while Todd and Julie are behind bars.
In Jay’s comments to the outlet, he noted that it is upsetting for her to be celebrating the season without their parents.
“They are sad about that, but truly have faith they are coming home,” noted the attorney.
The outlet reports that Nanny Faye Chrisley will be joining the festivities, along with Todd and Julie’s granddaughter Chloe, who they adopted in 2017.
Savannah currently has custody of Grayson and her niece. That’s been taking up a lot of her time. The former pageant queen has admitted she hasn’t been to see her parents as often as usual.
During a recent episode of her Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast, the reality star said that visiting her parents has become very difficult for her.
Being in a new relationship, Savannah confessed it’s been a struggle to balance her schedule with visiting Todd and Julie.

Being in a new relationship, Savannah confessed it’s been a struggle to balance her schedule with visiting Todd and Julie.
“That has been really tough, especially going to visit Mom and Dad and being in a relationship and feeling like I want something for myself at times,” she said during the episode.
“So we have gone to see them almost every weekend, but this past month, I mean, it’s been three weeks since we’ve seen them,” Savannah added.
She detailed how hard things have gotten now that she is caring for two minors.
“That’s been because of just me and the kids travel, and holidays and school and work,” the 26-year-old said.
She explained, “I have this layer of guilt that weights over me like, ‘Oh my gosh, you have to go see them. Like how selfish of you?’”
“I’m the angel on one side and devil on the other, of just this constant battle of feeling what I’m doing isn’t enough,” Savannah confessed.
While she feels guilty for making less visits to see Todd and Julie, Savannah noted that her parents have been understanding of this decision.
“Luckily, both my parents understand,” she said. “They want the kids to be happy and to not be visiting a prison 24/7. But I think that’s just my own internal battle.”
While visits were exciting for her at first, they have slowly become sad for the reality star.

Savannah said that it’s hard for her to leave after visits now.
“When I first got to see them, I got to hug them, I got to love on them, and don’t get me wrong when I say this, I love going and visiting and seeing my parents, but the longer they’re there, the harder it is to visit, because I know that I’m leaving them there and that’s the tough part,” she added.
The Chrisley Knows Best star confessed that she had a “full on sob moment” and just wanted Julie’s advice.
“There was something that happened and all I wanted was to call my mom, talk to her and get her advice. That’s what you want to do when you’re in a relationship, you just want Mom’s advice,” Savannah said.
The Georgia native explained that her relationship with Robert Shiver has been similar to Julie and Todd’s relationship over the years. Especially now that she is raising kids.
“When I look at my life now, when my mom met my dad he had two kids and in a way I’m weirdly reliving her life, because obviously my boyfriend has kids and there’s things that happen that I just want my mom’s advice,” Savannah continued.
She said, “I just want to hear how she went through it, what she went through and talk and vent and relate and get advice. And learn how to show up better. I just started crying and I couldn’t call her.”
“The longer they’re there in prison, I’m reminded of what I don’t have and you’re also reminded of how slow our system is and you just have to sit and wait,” the reality star noted.
