The Chrisley family recently received some legal news that came as a huge relief to the family. Although Todd Chrisley‘s sentence wouldn’t be changed, a judge decided to throw out Julie Chrisley‘s case, making her eligible for resentencing.

However, the family also received some less-great news: Todd’s appeal was dismissed.

As the family awaits the verdict on Julie’s new sentence, Savannah Chrisley is opening up about her parents’ complicated emotions to these updates.

The Chrisley family recently shared exciting news with the world, revealing that matriarch Julie Chrisley‘s prison sentence could be reduced after an appeal judge threw out her original case.

At the same time, a judge rejected Todd Chrisley‘s appeal.

Suffice to say, this led to some complicated emotions in the family, and they were open about their reactions.

At the time, the Chrisley’s attorney shared a statement with People about the news.

“We’re pleased that the Court agreed that Julie’s sentence was improper, but we’re obviously disappointed that it rejected Todd’s appeal,” their attorney shared.

“With this step behind us, we can now challenge the couple’s convictions based on the illegal search that started the case. The family appreciates the continued support they’ve received throughout this process. And they’re hopeful for more good news in the future.”

But, to many’s surprise, Julie has shared that her father Todd is “fine” with this update.

“He’s fine,” Savannah spilled on her podcast UnlockedPeople reports.

“He was crying, like, happy tears knowing that mom could be home. That’s the only thing he cares about right now is getting her home.”

Of course, Julie was experiencing some complicated emotions herself.

“Mom obviously was heartbroken for dad, but hopefully she can come home and then she can go visit him, and that will be a game changer, I think, for his overall mental health and well-being and for hers too,” Savannah shared with her listeners. “So I’m hoping that happens, but it was crazy.”

She also shared that some in her circle view this as a new opportunity.

She shared that her publicist contacted her to ask if the family would be interested in returning to filming given the news.

“I had a call with my publicist today because she just had to call and, like, vent to me for a second,” Savannah revealed.

“She was like, ‘Can you believe the crap that people do?’ Apparently, someone, a production company, reached out to her and asked if my mom was exclusive with a production company yet. And Alexa [Garcia] was like, ‘You do realize she’s still in prison, correct?’”

She shared that being on TV is not “what she’s worried about right now” on her podcast, People reports.

“If you go back to one of the podcasts at the very beginning when we were talking about cancel culture, which is the bane of my existence — I absolutely hate it — all the people canceling, all of us are the ones who have way too many skeletons in their closet,” she added. “Just remember, when you cancel

“At the very beginning when everyone was canceling us, I said, ‘Just wait. If something goes in our favor, all these people are gonna come out of the woodworks. They’re gonna wanna sign us to this, sign us to that,’ and look what’s happening,” Savannah shared on her podcast. “So, it kind of pisses me off, but at the end of the day, it’s the world that we live in. It’s also the entertainment industry.”

The Chrisley’s attorney seems very optimistic about Julie’s release.

According to Radar Online, Julie’s attorney Jay Surgent thinks Julie can be home as early as “next spring or summer.”

Jay told the outlet that “It’s a big, big deal.” He noted that Julie is excited she could be getting released earlier than expected.

The attorney said that he believes Julie’s sentencing could be “significantly knocked off by 1-2 years.”

Jay told Radar that Julie will likely be sent to a halfway house during the last six months of her sentencing. This will be close to the Chrisley family, he explained.

He said that their family is more than ready for Julie to come home.

“She serves as the foundation,” he added.
