On the episode, when the next charter arrived (guests who have previously been featured on the Below Deck franchise), Kyle was unfortunately suffering a serious headache and tried to rest in his cabin in hopes of getting better.

As more time went on and he didn’t improve, Sandy gave the stew a visit.

When Sandy asked if Kyle was “sick sick,” he responded, “It’s just my head that’s bulging,” indicating it was maybe something worse than a headache.

“Maybe you should go to the doctor, because your headache should be better by now,” Sandy said, adding, “This isn’t normal.”

After lead deckhand Lara Du Preez took Kyle back to the dock, the captain and crew began to worry about their situation without the stew (as you can watch in the video above).

“I need his energy this charter,” chief stew Tumi Mhlongo lamented in an interview after Kyle left the boat. “I’m never gonna be Kyle for these guys and these guys already have a relationship with Kyle, so it would have just added to the guest experience. I’m never gonna reach their level of craziness — it’s not happening. We’re pretty much screwed.”

Luckily, the next day, Kyle was on the mend and made his return to the charter.

“After running a bunch of tests at the hospital it came to the conclusion that I have exhaustion, dehydration, and I’ve been suffering a migraine,” Kyle said in an interview. “I feel immense guilt. I don’t wanna let the guests down, I don’t wanna let Tumi down.”
