Despite the incident, Captain Jason decided to give Margot another chance and issued a final warning, allowing her to stay on Below Deck Down Under.
Margot Sisson was almost fired from Below Deck Down Under by Captain Jason Chambers. Margot has been working as third stew under Chief Steward Aesha Scott since she joined the show during episode 2. Margot, 29, was a victim of a sexual misconduct attempt by bosun Luke Jones. She is still dealing with the effects of the incident with Luke, and it’s negatively affecting her performance on the yacht.
Margot received a text from Luke during episode 14; he wanted to speak to her after he went into her room without her consent. This led to the production stepping in and was forced to get out of Margot’s bunk bed. Aesha woke Margot up to confirm that she had not consented to Luke being there since she was asleep. Captain Jason had asked Luke to leave and get a hotel. He dismissed him from the job the next day. Luke now wanted a chance to explain himself. Margot chose to not reply to Luke, but it made her upset.
Margot Was Caught Drinking On The Job

Margot did not tell anyone about the text. She wanted to focus on her work since she was finally getting to work nights and service for the first time. Instead, Margot chose to turn to drinking to distract herself. She ended up sampling leftover piña coladas that were made for the guests. Even if it’s common for the crew to sip on a drink or two during their time off, what Margot did was a major breach of trust. Unfortunately for Margot, Aesha caught her after she smelled alcohol on her breath.
Aesha Brought The Issue To Captain Jason
Since Aesha had already noticed, Margot didn’t hide that she had indulged in a bit of drinking. She told Aesha about what happened, and Aesha did not like being put into the situation. Aesha explained how the Captain’s rules did not tolerate drinking on the job. Margot came clean to Aesha about Luke, but she did not mention the message she had received. Aesha assured Margot that alcohol wasn’t the answer and that she shouldn’t be drinking the pain away. While Aesha did not want to snitch on Margot, she went to Captain Jason to discuss the incident.
Captain Jason Decided To Give Margot Another Chance
Aesha told Captain Jason about the piña colada. When pulled aside by Caption Jason, Margot confessed to drinking, and she had “little sips of wine here and there” before. Margot was ashamed about what she did. Captain Jason told her that she needed to be professional while dealing with her problems. He only gave her a final warning, but Margot was not fired. Margot was given another chance and stayed on Below Deck Down Under.
