Hannah Ferrier dishes on her feuds with Captain Sandy Yawn and Kate Chastain, but Sandy claps back.

As fans know, Hannah was fired by Captain Sandy during the fifth season of Below Deck Mediterranean after Malia White found drugs (valium and CBD) in Hannah’s room. Viewers were outraged because Hannah had been the chief stew since the show’s inception, but Sandy insisted she was just following maritime law and her hands were tied.

In a new interview, Hannah claimed that Sandy — who joined the series in season two — was simply looking for a reason to fire her because she wanted her off the show “from day one.”

“I feel like Sandy and I never saw eye to eye. But she pointed out she doesn’t choose the crew or who comes back,” the former stew said on the Side Piece with Melissa Pfeister podcast, adding, “She wanted me out from day one.”

Hannah also alleged Sandy was unnecessarily competitive with her on set, which made her very uncomfortable.

“There was some weird competitive thing she had going on with me,” she claimed. “Which was kind of silly because it’s not two positions that should be competing. But I don’t think we were competing like on our work positions. I think she was competitive with me on the TV side of things.”

Nevertheless, Sandy denies Hannah’s assertions and claims the mother-of-one wasn’t taking her yachting position seriously enough because she was only there for fame.

“I’m a real captain and I expect a level of service,” the captain told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “Hannah was there for the camera. I was there as a captain. Two different things. I actually care about yachting. And I care about my job.”

The Florida native then went on to really throw shade at her former chief stew as she declared there was “no competition.”

“There’s no competition with Hannah. I’m a captain and she waits tables,” she snarked. “There’s no equal there professionally. I think that’s the part that I think really disturbs her, is her ego. It’s sad. I feel for her, this girl’s still hanging onto that sh*t I haven’t thought about until you asked me about it.”

Sandy also boasted that she handled Hannah’s firing so well that a professional crew manager is planning to use the clip from the show as a training video of sorts for other captains.

“I fired Hannah because I don’t trust her,” she declared. “In fact, I met with a manager, a fleet manager that manages crew. And he said he wants to take the clip of the video, how I explained it, and show every captain on yachts that have to deal with crew.”

Meanwhile, after discussing Captain Sandy in her interview, Hannah also addressed her beef with Below Deck alum Kate Chastain, who has publicly accused Hannah of talking behind her back. The former reality star claimed Kate is upset with her simply because she called her out on her behavior.

“No, it was like we were friends and then there was, like, we went to New York,” she said. “That was basically just like a situation with my friends where I kind of called her out on it. And I don’t think she liked getting called out.”

She added, “And I just feel like dragging other people in press and things like that, that’s not really my style. So, I’ve just never literally said anything about it.”
