Below Deck season 11 needed a new Deckhand, and the crew services team sent in Dylan Pierre De Villiers to fill the position, which has left many wondering more about his life off the St. David. Throughout Below Deck, crew members have come in mid-way through the season to fill the vacant roles that are left by firings or departures. After Captain Kerry Titheradge had to let go of Jared Woodin as the Bosun after he was unable to fulfill the duties of the role, he promoted Deckhand Ben Willoughby into the position, which left the crew down a Deckhand.
While Ben may not be the most qualified Bosun, he’s been filling the position and Captain Kerry has needed someone else to join Marie “Sunny” Marquis and Kyle Stillie on the exterior team. Dylan joined the team in the most recent episode of Below Deck season 11, but with other drama happening on the superyacht and a charter guest trip to finish arranging, there wasn’t much of an introduction to the new superyacht crew member. Dylan shared on the most recent episode of Below Deck season 11 that he’s 23 years old, but his short life has been filled with some difficult times. He shared that he spent his younger years overweight, which has really messed with his confidence for years. After being bullied, Dylan explained that he wanted to do anything he could to stop people from making fun of him. He chose to figure out how to maintain his diet and incorporate exercise, sharing that he felt very insecure when he was young. He’s since been able to prioritize his healthy lifestyle.
