When does Blue Bloods Season 14 release?

The final season of Blue Bloods will be here before fans know it after a long wait due to the SAG/AFTRA and writers strikes.

It was revealed late last year that Season 14 of Blue Bloods would be the last for the Reagan family.

Sadly, this news doesn’t come as a surprise to Blue Bloods fans after the cast took a 25% pay cut to make Season 14.

The Blue Bloods will receive a fitting send-off as the season is split into two parts.

However, unlike shows like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones that make fans wait a year or more for the full final season, Blue Bloods Season 14 will end this year.

Let’s see when the first part of the final season of Blue Bloods will air on CBS.

When does Blue Bloods Season 14 release?

The final season of Blue Bloods will premiere Friday, February 16 at 9:10 p.m. on CBS as part of the network’s big launch week. Things start that week with the Super Bowl on CBS and end with Blue Bloods Season 14 on Friday.

Season 14 of Blue Bloods will have 10 episodes airing this spring. The final eight episodes will air in the fall as part of CBS’s big 2024/2025 fall slate.

Most of the Reagan family returned last season, including Tom Selleck (Frank), Donnie Wahlberg (Fanny), Will Estes (Jamie), Bridget Moynahan (Erin), Len Cariou (Henry), Vanessa Ray (Eddie), Tony Terraciano (Jack) and Will Hochman (Joe).

New details have also emerged about the Reagan family’s return, and it’s going to be awesome.

What can Blue Bloods fans expect from the Season 14 premiere?

According to TV Insider, Jamie goes undercover to help bust a deadly human trafficking ring. Meanwhile, Danny and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) investigate a murder case that causes trouble for Danny when it is discovered that his former partner, Darryl (Malik Yoba), is involved in the case.

Erin once again has to defend herself when Danny comes to her for help. In true Danny style, it doesn’t really develop. For Frank, he must decide whether or not to support Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh) after they have different views on a policy.

The first episode ends with Eddie teaching a young thief a life lesson. There will also be an iconic Reagan family dinner that Blue Bloods fans won’t want to miss.

In a little more than six weeks, Blue Bloods fans will finally get what they’ve wanted for months: the show will return with new episodes. After all, it’s been eight long months since Blue Bloods aired its Season 13 finale.

For those who need a Blue Bloods refresher, Seasons 1-13 will be streaming on Paramount+.

Will Blue Bloods be back for season 14 in 2024?

Blue Bloods has built a pretty sturdy legacy at CBS. The cop drama has been on the air for 13 seasons, and based on the strong ratings and devoted fanbase, it doesn’t look like it’ll be slowing down anytime soon. The problem, of course, is that the show has been taken off the fall schedule due to the writers and actors strike.

The show was not given a proper release date, and the more time passes without information, the more fans worry that Blue Bloods might not be coming back at all. Fortunately, recent news in the Hollywood world suggest we could be getting the show sooner than we initially thought.

Will there Be a Blue Bloods season 14?

For starters, Blue Bloods is definitely coming back for the 2023-24 season. It joins the rest of the scripted fall dramas in being delayed due to a lack of personnel, but the Writers Guild of America appears to be on the cusp of striking a deal with the AMPTP, which means we are a huge step closer to getting shows back on the air.

Deadline recently talked so network executives, and they noted that dramas will take eight to 10 weeks to get rolling again. This may sound like a long time, but it’s actually much faster than the estimates that were initially being given– there were stretches where it looked like Blue Bloods wouldn’t return until the summer, or worse, the fall of 2024.

If things continue to move at the same pace, we could be getting season 14 as early as March. There is, of course, the actors strike, which still needs to addressed and settled before cameras roll, but there seems to be momentum for the first time in months so we are hopeful that it will continue.

Better yet, procedural dramas will be given top priority when production starts again, due to the lack of special effects needed. This means that Blue Bloods will be near the top of the list as we head into 2024.
