Will Estes leave ‘Blue Bloods’? After what happened to Jamie Reagan in Season 13, fans are worried what will happen next to the actor.

The CBS police procedural drama Blue Bloods details the fictional life and times of New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (played by Tom Selleck) and his close-knit family.

Will Estes leave ‘Blue Bloods’? Sergeant Jamie Reagan’s fate is revealed.

As of this writing, there is no evidence that Will Estes will step down from the role of Jamie. But he was nearly eliminated from the CBS series during the premiere.

In Season 13, Episode 1, titled “Keeping the Faith,” the 29th Precinct investigated a domestic violence case. Ultimately, Jamie took matters into his own hands and tracked down the suspect.

In another development, Jamie was shot dead by an attacker. But fans shouldn’t worry because the episode has a happy ending. In the end, the NYPD sergeant survived the shooting and lived to fight another day.

This isn’t the first time the showrunners have teased Will’s departure from the series. Last season, Frank’s longtime nemesis, Mayor Chase, offered his youngest son a job in charge of security. Although Jamie was adamant about his decision to decline the mayor’s offer, Season 13 brought opportunity back into focus.

The synopsis for Season 13, Episode 2 reveals: “Jamie starts a new job as a field intelligence sergeant, which requires him to keep secrets from his family.”

Jamie may have a new gig, but we seriously doubt he’ll be giving up his seat at Sunday dinner any time soon. So, if Jamie doesn’t leave Blue Bloods in 2022, who will?

Who will leave ‘Blue Bloods’ in 2022?

Over the years, several rumors have surfaced online suggesting that OG Blue Bloods characters like Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) and Tom Selleck’s Frank may be leaving the series. Thankfully, it looks like none of that is true.

So far, the showrunners haven’t confirmed any major characters will leave before Season 13. And members of the Blue Bloods cast want it to stay that way.

Regarding his role, Tom Selleck previously told PEOPLE: “I don’t think there’s an end point. I think there’s a lot of life in the show, as long as you let your character grow up and get older.”

You can watch new episodes of Blue Bloods, airing Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
