Why did CBS cancel Blue Bloods?

Blue Blood innovation has long been marked by uncertainty. After many highlights of the Blue Bloods episodes, it was reported that the confirmation of season 14 only came after difficult negotiations. CBS has demanded notable budget cuts, including of actors. The cast and producers eventually agreed to a pay cut in the hope of keeping hundreds of crew members and other employees employed.

The renewal reportedly comes with the news that Blue Bloods season 14 will be the last. Deadline mentions that the Blue Bloods writing team began writing the script with the understanding that it could be the final chapter, although it notes that the decision to end the police drama was only firmly decided after the actors strike. From there, decide on the number of episodes and release schedule.

Analysts regularly warn that more cancellations are expected. The number of scripted TV shows, especially live TV shows based in the United States, will decline after reaching a high of nearly 600 in 2022. Studios and streamers are becoming more conscious of what they spend their money on, with big established actors like Blue Bloods proving particularly costly.
