‘Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 3 Review: Fear No Evil

Will Hochman continues his guest starring role as Joe Hill on CBS’s Blue Bloods season 14 episode three. Directed by Ralph Hemecker from a script by Kevin O’Reilly and Jack Ciapciak, episode three – “Fear No Evil” – will air on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT.

Solving crime one episode at a time. That’s the case for many of the crime procedurals currently on the airwaves, and the procedure is a big part of the storyline. It usually starts with the crime, without giving away the criminal’s identity. Law enforcement arrives on the scene, finds clues, and solves the case at the end of the episode. While this formula is showcased throughout the CBS drama “Blue Bloods,” there is one very important ingredient that makes it different from many of the crime dramas on TV: family dinner.

The Reagan family has been calling New York City home for generations, and generations of the Reagan family have worked tirelessly to protect the citizens of the Big Apple. Henry Reagan (Len Cariou) was once the NYC police commissioner before his son, Frank (Tom Selleck), stepped into the role.

While Frank continues the legacy passed down by his father, his children have also committed themselves to protecting the city. Jamie (Will Estes) works as a field intelligence sergeant, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) works at the district attorney’s office, and Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is a detective.

No matter what the day throws their way, they always work to make it home in time for family dinner. Those dinners have become a hallmark of the show, and Steve Schirripa said that he was excited to receive his seat at the table.

We now know that the upcoming 14th season of the show will not only be split into two parts, but it will be the series’s last run, with president of CBS Entertainment, Amy Reisenbach, and president of CBS Studios, David Stapf, saying in a joint statement: “Blue Bloods will forever be a beloved part of CBS’s legacy.

“It ruled Friday nights with unprecedented dominance since its premiere and established itself as a pillar of our winning line-up with an exceptionally devoted fan base.

“We’ll be forever grateful to the legendary Leonard Goldberg for developing this signature series, and to the amazing cast led by Tom Selleck, who America embraced as family and watched as welcomed guests at the Reagan dinner table.

“We also sincerely thank the incredible writing and producing teams guided by executive producer Kevin Wade for years of compelling episodes, as they conceive this final chapter that we expect to be the most satisfying season yet for our loyal viewers.”

Sadly, it will. It has already been announced that the 14th season of the long-running series will be its last, with star Tom Selleck saying: “For the past 13 years it has been an honour and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family.

“Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes.

“Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support, and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”

On the bright side for fans, the new season will be an extended, two-part run, with the first 10 episodes arriving first before the final eight air at a later date.

The end of season 13 didn’t leave us with many cliffhangers or hints of what may happen in the upcoming season, but the finale did bring back some characters we haven’t seen for a while, including Danny’s former partner Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito), and two family members who popped back up for the family dinner – Danny’s eldest son Jack (Tony Terraciano) and Erin’s daughter Nicky (Sami Gayle).

Could these reappearances be a sign more fan favourites may return for season 14? Jackie’s storyline was neatly concluded, but it would be great to see more of Jack and Nicky and other characters from previous seasons too, such as Lorraine Bracco’s former mayor and Bebe Neuwirth’s character Kelly Peterson.

Is there a Blue Bloods season 14 trailer?
