How These Blue Bloods Stars Really Behave On The Set (continue)

Marisa Ramirez got emotional over those iconic dinner moments

Danny Reagan’s partner is Maria Baez, who is played by Marisa Ramirez. In the series, they share a quasi-familial connection that transcends mere friendship. Baez eventually got invited to the show’s famous dinner scenes, and Ramirez told Pop Culture it was Wahlberg himself who fought to get her involved in the weekly meals.

“It’s eight years I’ve been there now, and it was actually very emotional for me on so many levels, which I didn’t share with anyone at the time,” Ramirez said. “Because first of all, it was emotional and a little nerve-racking for me, as it was the first time I was in a room with so many people without masks on.” Beyond the pressure of sitting down with the Reagan family, Ramirez was also starstruck at sharing a scene with Tom Selleck. “I so badly wanted to say something to Tom about the fact that, ‘My grandmother was such a huge fan of yours.’ But I knew I wouldn’t have been able to get out the words without crying. … [I] didn’t want to look like a basket case at family dinner.”

Blue Bloods Fans Celebrate These New Arcs…

It’s hard to say that Blue Bloods Season 14 feels like the finale just from the premiere episode; but according to many fans, the last couple of seasons felt like a finale to begin with. From this point of view, watching the Commish finally make peace with the Mayor is a welcome change, for sure. Seeing that Frank Reagan will likely retire in the finale, he needs such a closure to his years-long rivalry.

But the Commish and the Mayor agreeing on something, as unexpected as it was, didn’t become the most cherished moment of the Season 14 premiere.

Jamie Reagan finally stopped rushing through the police ranks and took on another undercover assignment! It’s great to see him stop being the Golden Boy Scout, get bearded and inked, and go straight into the monsters’ lair. Jamie has been needing a storyline as tense and dangerous as this for seasons, and he totally deserved it. Fans are eager to see how he’ll fare and where will his investigation lead him.

…But These Stories Are Pretty Unrealistic

Don’t get us wrong, we’re all for Frank finding the peace and Jamie finding the action, but the two new best storylines just don’t look all too possible in our book.

After years of detesting the Mayor, the old and stubborn Commish suddenly gives up the fight and mends fences with him? Some might say that it’s because Frank intends to retire soon, but if anything, that would have only given him more freedom to strike his old rival. We’re just not buying this unexpected change.

And Jamie… The son and grandson of two well-known Police Commissioners, the golden boy of the precinct, and the pride of his family goes under deep cover? There must be at least several pictures of him with his father online, and organized criminal groups do their research. Jamie’s too recognizable to risk sending him undercover.

But that’s just us yapping. All in all, we loved the S14 premiere and are excited to see what comes next!
