Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg and the rest of the Reagan clan will return for more stories of the NYPD when Season 14 of ‘Blue Bloods’ premieres.

And even as it’s labeled a police procedural, the truth is Blue Bloods is more of a family drama, the family being the Reagans, the first family of New York law enforcement, with Selleck starring as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan as well as the patriarch of the family as father to Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), Erin (Bridget Moynahan) and Jamie (Will Estes).

Here is what we know about Season 14 so far:

When does Blue Bloods return?

Blue Bloods will premiere its 14th season on Friday, Feb. 16.

Here is a sneak peek from Donnie Wahlberg’s Instagram with the cast, including Will Hochman, who plays brother Joe Hill, so he will definitely be returning for at least one episode in the new, shortened season.

Blue Bloods will air on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Which Blue Bloods cast members are returning for Season 14?

Donnie Wahlberg
Detective Danny Reagan

Bridget Moynahan

Will Estes

Which major recurring characters will return for Blue Bloods Season 14?
Also expected to return are Frank Reagan’s staff, including Det. Abigail Baker (Abigal Hawk), Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara), and Lieutenant Sidney Gormley (Robert Clohessy).

Over in the D.A.’s office, we should see the return of DA Investigator Anthony Abetemarco (Steve Schirripa).

And then, of course, Joe Hill (Will Hochman) will be in and out as a family member and also a member of the NYPD. In fact, TVInsider reveals that he will be returning in the two-part season premiere.

Also, back for family dinners will be Andrew Terraciano, who plays Danny’s youngest son Sean, who is still at home, but getting close to going off to college. And Nicky (Sami Gayle), Erin’s daughter, will be flying in from San Francisco for an episode or two.

Who will join the Blue Bloods cast in Season 14?
No additions for the new season—if there will be any—have been announced.

Will Blue Bloods do a tribute for Treat Williams?

Treat Williams only recurred a couple of episodes a season, but his role as Frank’s friend Lenny Ross, a retired detective-turned-writer, was always a welcome addition to the cast. Now, it will have to be retired due to Williams’ unexpected death on June 12, 2023, as a result of injuries from a motorcycle accident. But it won’t pass unnoticed. There will be a segment where Frank grieves the passing of his friend and former partner, who on the show will die of the cancer, which was revealed last season.

Is there a trailer for Blue Bloods season 14?
There is and it features Frank going head-to-head once again with Mayor Peter Chase (Dylan Walsh). Will these two ever agree on anything?

Are there any spoilers for Blue Bloods Season 14?
Thanks to TVInsider, we know that in the two-part season opener Jamie goes undercover in a human trafficking ring and that Frank is opposed to him going undercover for such a dangerous case. After all, Frank already lost his oldest son Joe to the job.

While undercover, Jamie will run into his nephew Joe Hill, who is also undercover for the trafficking case and they butt heads.

As showrunner Kevin Wade told TVInsider, ““The jeopardy has never been ‘will the kidnapper get caught before he kills the victims’ but whether two or more Reagans get into a conflict they can’t walk back. That’s what resonates.”

TV Insider also reveals that Jennifer Esposito will return as Jackie Curatola, Danny’s former partner. Health issues caused Esposito to leave the series back in 2012, but her return last season as the Chief of Police in Suffolk County, working again with Danny to track down a serial killer felt like they had unfinished business. And they did. She’s back to help him track down serial killer Leonard Walker (Mather Zickel).

Will there still be a family dinner each week on Blue Bloods Season 14?
Sunday family dinners are the one thing that can always be counted on each episode with Frank and Henry overseeing the family.

What happened at the end of Blue Bloods Season 13?
The Season 13 finale, “Forgive Us Our Trespasses,” saw the return of serial killer Dr. Leonard Walker and with him the return of detective Jackie Curatola, who teamed up with Danny to try to track him down. Walker attempted to make Jackie his next victim, but she managed to fight him off and he got away. Walker remains on the loose, leaving the door is open for Esposito to return in Season 14.

Also in the finale, Erin, who had been planning all season to run for New York’s District Attorney makes the announcement at Sunday dinner that she has changed her mind.

And, in a nice touch, the episode wrapped up with the iconic family dinner seeing the return of a few faces that had been missing: Danny’s oldest son Jack (Tony Terraciano), who was last seen in the Season 12 premiere, and Erin’s daughter, Nicky, who was last seen in Season 11.
