Captain Sandy Is Making a Change After That Chaotic First Charter: “F-cking Fired”
Captain Sandy Yawn made a staffing change after several issues on Below Deck Mediterranean‘s first charter of Season 9.
cabin leak. Laundry issues. Provision problems. The first charter of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 got off to a rocky start, to say the least, and on Episode 2, Captain Sandy Yawn decided to make a big staffing change.
The most pressing challenge of the charter was the delay in receiving provisions, as well as several missing items when the orders did arrive. The issue got so bad that Sandy sent Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher to another nearby super-yacht to buy rosé from them during the June 10 episode.
Although that was a success, and the deck crew members were able to secure five bottles of rosé for the guests’ final day of the charter, the provision problems didn’t end there.
When the provisioner texted Sandy to ask if she wanted the scheduled wine delivery by 5 p.m. that day (three hours after the charter was scheduled to end), Sandy said aloud, “They’re f-cking fired.”

On Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Season 9 premiere, which aired on June 3, Sandy explained why the issue with getting provisions was so shocking.
“When you have a provision company that’s global, you trust them,” she said. “They failed us.”
In a recent interview with The Daily Dish, Sandy shared more about the experience.
“I’ve learned a long time ago, I can’t worry about the things that are outside of my control, right?” she said. “So, I have to worry about the things that are in my control, and that is improvising and figuring out, ‘Hey, how can we get some wine on board?’ Even if I send crew ashore. Whatever it takes, we’ll figure it out.”
“What I love about the team is no one panicked,” she continued. “They continued to do their jobs, and they managed. It’s like this fine dance that they have to do in order to, you know, say…’I’m so sorry I don’t have this,’ but keep them happy. And I think Aesha [Scott] did a fantastic job in the interior team.”
