The ninth season of Below Deck Mediterranean recently started airing on Bravo. While fans are excited, they are having to get used to new faces in place of a few of their favorites. However, Captain Sandy Yawn is still there to serve as the glue for the cast as they navigate demanding guests as well as crew drama. Recently, the Captain opened up about once again being on good terms with Hannah Ferrier, who she had to fire in a previous season.

Fans will recall that Hannah was one of the OG cast members for Below Deck Med. However, her time with the crew came to an end during season five when she was fired for having Valium as well as a CBD vape in her cabin. Now, though, Hannah has come out and said that she and Sandy had issues before this transpired.

Sandy recently spoke to US Magazine and revealed that while on a trip to Australia, she met up with Hannah, and they had a nice conversation.

Captain Sandy says, “I saw Hannah the other night, and we had a great conversation. I went to her house, and I met her baby.”

For context, she has a three-year-old with Josh Roberts.

Sandy goes on to say that despite people thinking she hates Hannah, she doesn’t hate anyone.

“A lot of people think [I don’t like her]. But I don’t not like anyone. Honestly. I like Hannah. I actually care about Hannah. She knows that. I hope she’s listening because I do care about Hannah.”

In a separate interview with E! News, Captain Sandy discussed how she feels about the recent cast shakeup. According to her, “I always want [the]crew to come back. You spend that time with them, you bond. And then I see what messes they are on TV, and I think, ‘I would still take them back,‘ because I guarantee you they’re watching themselves and learning what not to do.”

Regarding who she misses the most from season eight, she says she misses them all for different reasons.

“I wouldn’t use the word sad but bummed. Would have loved to have Tumi. That would have been great. I would have loved to have Kyle. All of them, Natalya. They’re great people.”

She also shares that she stays in touch with the former cast members as much as she can. However, they’re all busy, so it can be challenging.

Sandy says, “I haven’t looked at my messages lately, but I saw Tumi in Vegas [at BravoCon.] Kyle, yes. We’ve all stayed in touch. We all have our own lives, so we’re all in different states or different countries, so it’s hard to see and stay connected.”

Regarding this season, Captain Sandy says she saw less drama this time around.

“What I like about having department heads is they handle those issues. So, I don’t really get that. They’re on their best behavior in front of me.”

Fans will have to keep up with the new season to see if Captain Sandy has to fire anyone.
