‘CBS Will Come to Their Senses’: Tom Selleck Believes Blue Bloods Isn’t Over Yet

CBS shifts focus and gives way to new shows despite Blue Bloods’ good ratings.

Blue Bloods star Tom Selleck remains optimistic that the network will reverse its decision to conclude the show with its 14th season. The actor has recently expressed his confidence in the show’s potential to continue.

Selleck stated during his interview with CBS News, Blue Bloods, which has been a consistent performer for CBS for nearly 14 years, still has much to offer. The actor’s hope that CBS will change its decision hinges on the belief that the network might reconsider, given the show’s ongoing popularity and the desire of the cast to return for more episodes.

I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night.

The final season of Blue Bloods is being released in two segments, with the first part currently on air. The second part, consisting of eight episodes, is set to premiere in October. Fans of the series have rallied for the show’s continuation.

Despite these efforts, Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, has confirmed that the series will definitively end this year. Yet, Selleck’s comments reflect a different sentiment, saying:

“All the cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this: we aren’t sliding off down a cliff. We’re doing good shows, and still holding our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!”
