He also said he was targeted by the guard for his seemingly privileged lifestyle on the outside world.
‘There are recordings of staff members here talking about “he needs to be humbled,”‘ Todd added. ‘”What we need to do is we need to put him in diesel therapy and put him in shackles and let him ride around the country, and then bring him back and that will humble him.”‘
The father-of-five also noted he has not been allowed to verbally communicate with his wife as he told reporter Brian Entin: ‘It’s devastating. You know she and I email four or five times a day, but they will hold my emails and hold them on her end as well as a way of punishment to us because of what Savannah is doing.’
Todd then claimed that he only eats what he makes for himself at the commissary as the prison is ‘so disgustingly filthy.’

‘The food is literally, I’m not exaggerating this…the food is dated, it’s out of date, at minimum a year,’ he claimed.
‘It’s a year past expiration, and they are literally starving these men to death here. These men are getting…I don’t know that they’re getting 1000 calories a day.’
In an official statement regarding Todd’s allegations, the FBOP said: ‘It is the mission of the Federal Bureau of Prisons to operate facilities that are safe, secure, and humane. We take seriously our duty to protect the individuals entrusted in our custody, as well as maintaining the safety of our employees and the community. Humane treatment of the men and women in our custody is a top priority.’
They added: ‘Expired food is discarded and not utilized.’
In response to Todd’s decision to speak out, the source continued: ‘Todd is thinking inside of his little box on his little platform – but there are those who have been in his prison their whole lives and have not said anything in fear of what would happen if they did.’
Highlighting the fact Todd is not seen at a credible character due to his tax evasion issues, the source asked: ‘Why would he not lie about a jail cell having mold?’
The continued: ‘Of course he is telling the world that it is unlivable. He sees this as his only way to get out of there and not have to live there if his appeal is denied.’
The insider made it clear that many in his circle wish he would stop being so vocal, adding: ‘Everyone wishes he didn’t do all of this, and they think Savannah isn’t helping either on her part.

‘She is advocating against awful conditions of a federal prison as if she lives there. She only knows what is told to her by Todd.’
Meanwhile, insiders previously revealed to DailyMail.com that Julie could decide to divorce her incarcerated spouse as she reportedly regrets allowing him to convince her to go along with his ‘foolproof plan’ – which ultimately landed them both behind bars.
‘Julie’s friends are certain that she will eventually divorce Todd for convincing her to go along with his foolproof plan that landed them in prison,’ a separate source previously told DailyMail.com exclusively.
Todd and Julie began their prison stints back in January. They had their sentences reduced in September. Julie is now serving five and a half years in Federal Medical Center Lexington, while Todd will serve out 10 years.

Savannah has been extremely outspoken about her parents dire situation.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight the beauty pageant queen said ‘there’s been a lot of retaliation’ against her father for speaking out – and that the guards at Pensacola have targeted him.She also shut down previous reports that her mother had hired a legal counsel to file for divorce.
Savannah also said the living conditions for Julie are bad, although she hasn’t been targeted as much as Todd reportedly has been.
‘Some of the male guards, they definitely speak down on the women [in jail]. They make them feel like garbage.’ she told ET.
