Keanu Reeves Might Be in Death Stranding 2

Hideo Kojima drops a hint at possible involvement of Keanu Reeves in the upcoming Death Stranding sequel.

In a surprising move, gaming maestro Hideo Kojima has once again left the gaming world in shock.

The celebrated company, famed for blending cinema with gameplay, recently dropped a hint on an Instagram post that teases that Keanu Reeves, the Hollywood megastar from the John Wick, and The Matrix franchises, might just be stepping into Kojima’s upcoming creation, Death Stranding 2.

The post features some images of Keanu Reeves and Norman Reedus who plays Sam Porter Bridges in the Death Stranding games, cruising together on motorcycles. Reeves, a motorcycle enthusiast, shared this moment with Reedus, who’s no stranger to the world of bikes himself. While the specifics remain vague, fans certainly are discussing the tantalizing prospect of Reeves joining the ranks alongside Reedus in the upcoming sequel of the game. Reeves’ entry into gaming, notably through Cyberpunk 2077, showcased his enthusiasm for interactive entertainment. If the speculations turn out true, his collaboration may mark a trend of Hollywood heavyweights venturing into virtual realms, with some rumors also suggesting another Hollywood star Nicholas Cage’s possible involvement in the game. The secrecy surrounding Reeves’ potential role has only deepened the intrigue, leaving fans eagerly awaiting further details.

Reeves’ 2019 visit to Kojima Productions, while seemingly casual, piqued curiosity and gave rise to rumors of potential collaborations. With Reedus and now possibly Reeves on board, Death Stranding 2 could reshape the dynamics between gaming and celebrity involvement. All eyes are now on The Game Awards in December, Kojima’s “go to” place for big reveals. Given his close ties with host Geoff Keighley, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect another sneak peek of Death Stranding 2. Gamers are holding their breath for what promises to be an exciting event.

Released in 2019, Death Stranding emerged as an action game created by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation 4. This debut marked the collaboration of renowned director Hideo Kojima and his team after parting ways with Konami in 2015. The sequel, intriguingly introduced through visuals at multiple gaming events that showcased Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Léa Seydoux, has now been teased. The unveiling of Death Stranding 2’s first trailer, stylized as DS2 and clarified to be a working title, took place at The Game Awards 2022. Furthermore, plans are also underway for a film adaptation of the franchise.

Death Stranding 2 is expected to arrive sometime in 2024 or 2025.
