SUMMARY

  •  Aesha Scott’s strong work ethic and positive attitude may be the saving grace for Below Deck Mediterranean season 9.
  •  Aesha’s fan-favorite status is due to her competence as a Chief Stew and ability to provide excellent commentary without adding drama.
  •  Aesha’s leadership style sets her apart from other Chief Stews, making her a crucial addition to a crew facing difficult seasons.

Below Deck Mediterranean’s Aesha Scott may have taken some time away from the series, but her work ethic and attitude could save Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 from ruin. Although Below Deck Mediterranean is still a favorite among Below Deck viewers, the series has been criticized for a lack of originality and a high level of cast turnover. With Captain Sandy Yawn at the helm of Mustique, along with the superyachts that have been chartered in the past, the crews on Below Deck Med always work hard and understand that they’re being held to a higher standard by the Captain.

Aesha, who started out on Below Deck Mediterranean season 4, has always had a great work ethic that makes her stand out from some of the other yachties on the show. With a charming, bubbly personality that doesn’t overshadow her managerial style, Aesha quickly became someone that Below Deck Mediterranean viewers looked forward to seeing on the series. After moving from Below Deck Med to Below Deck Down Under, Aesha worked up to the Chief Stew position beneath Captain Jason Chambers, showing off her expertise in some incredibly difficult situations. Returning to her roots, Aesha could save Below Deck Med.

Aesha Is A Beloved Below Deck Cast Member

Although she’s only appeared on a few seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Down Under, respectively, Aesha is one of the most beloved cast members in the franchise. After appearing in Below Deck Mediterranean season 4 and 5 as a stew, viewers got the opportunity to know Aesha on a more personal level. Throughout her time on the series, she was shown to be an incredibly competent stew with a sense of humor, well-liked by the rest of the superyacht crew. Aesha got along well with Captain Sandy, which was a major plus in her role as stew.

After leaving Below Deck Mediterranean season 5, Aesha took some time to work on other projects before popping up on Below Deck Down Under. The stew had been promoted to Chief Stew, and her relationship with Captain Jason has been one of the most surprising, exciting moments of the franchise. Aesha was able to flex her managerial muscles on the Aussie Below Deck spin-offhaving dealt with some tough scenarios during her time on the show. Aesha expertly worked quickly to report deckhand Luke Jones for his assault on Margot Sisson without question during Below Deck Down Under season 2.

Aesha Is Fan Favorite Despite Not Adding To The Drama

Although Aesha isn’t typically involved in the major drama aboard whatever superyacht she’s working on, she has been able to provide commentary about what’s going on throughout the seasons. With a sense of humor and a bubbly, positive personality, Aesha is known for being able to see the bright side of the situation, if not the humorous side. Though she’s able to be authoritative when necessary, Aesha makes it clear to everyone that she does her work without taking things too seriously. Though she doesn’t provide drama of her own, Aesha doesn’t have to when she can provide excellent commentary.

Aesha Can Be A Boss Without Being Mean

Although Aesha is in a position of power when she’s working as the Chief Stew, she’s able to be the leader of the interior without being mean or playing favorites. One of the issues Chief Stews in Below Deck franchise history have faced is that they tend to take issues personally or get personal about the issues they’re facing. Unlike Below Deck season 11’s Chief Stew Fraser Olender, who has been struggling with the dynamics of his crew, Aesha doesn’t tend to get involved in the drama, and has a clear line between being a boss and being a friend.
