BIG UPDATE: 6 Questions Will Trent Season 2 Has To Answer

6 Questions Will Trent Season 2 Has To Answer

The events that have taken place in Will Trent so far have left a handful of questions for season 2 to answer. The first 13 episodes dug deep into Will Trent’s past and his traumatic childhood in the group home with Angie Polaski. In the present day, the show explored new partnerships, old romances, thrilling cases, as well as his bond his with his dog.

While Will Trent season 1 didn’t end on any outrageous cliffhangers, some loose ends remain for the next season to address. Various developments have created a great deal of storytelling potential for the episodes to come. So when production on Will Trent season 2 begins, the series will have an opportunity to provide much-needed answers to six questions posed by season 1.

6, Who Is Will’s Dad In Will Trent?

Upon his introduction, it was revealed that his birth parents abandoned him, and he grew up in foster care as a result. However, when the season 1 finale arrived, it was established that his backstory was much more complicated than once thought. Amanda Wagner, Will’s boss at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, actually knew Will’s birth mother, Lucy, because she was a prostitute on Amanda’s beat in the 1980s. A serial killer was one of Lucy’s clients, and she became one of his victims after giving birth to Will. As for the identity of his father, that’s yet to be explored inĀ Will Trent.

Will knows that James wasn’t his biological father, leaving the character’s identity a mystery for now. After discovering who his mother was in the finale, Will might be more motivated than ever to find his father when Will Trent season 2 premieres. Knowing more about his mother may make it easier to track him down. If he turns out to be a good person, finding him could amount to a huge win for Will Trent in season 2.

Will Angie Be Paralyzed In Will Trent Season 2?

James kidnapped Angie during the two-part Will Trent season 1 finale because he blamed Will for Lucy’s death and wanted to punish him. James brutally beat Angie, but Will found them before the murderer could kill her. Unfortunately, Angie’s spinal injuries could become permanent. After arriving at the hospital, Angie underwent an emergency decompression surgery, and doctors were able to stabilize her spine. The bad news was that they wouldn’t know how extensive Angie’s nerve damage was until a later time, meaning that she could potentially be paralyzed from James’ attack. Naturally, the return of Will Trent will have to go into further details on Angie’s condition and explain whether she will be paralyzed.

Are Will & Angie Officially Over?

The status of Will Trent and Angie’s on-and-off romance is left up in the air by what happened at the end of season 1. Angie is constantly pushing Will away because she doesn’t feel good enough for him, while Will tries to keep her close. In Will Trent season 1, episode 11, they broke up yet again when Will found Angie’s drugs. Unbeknownst to him, Angie wanted to plant the drugs on Lenny Broussard. Later, while Will was undercover, he met up with Angie, and they briefly rekindled their romance. But when Angie took the fall for Lenny’s death, she ended her relationship with Will again. Now, with everything that has happened with Lenny and James Ulster, it’s unclear where Will and Angie stand ahead of Will Trent season 2.

3
Will The Truth About Lenny’s Death Come Out?

When Angie learned that Lenny was out of prison and engaged to a woman with a teenage daughter named Crystal in Will Trent season 1, she was determined to get them far away from her former abuser. Unfortunately, the mother-and-daughter duo had no desire to remove themselves from Lenny’s life until he started abusing Crystal. This resulted in Crystal killing Lennie, and Angie in turn taking the fall for it. For now, it’s believed that Angie killed him in self-defense, but it remains to be seen if that continues to be the accepted explanation. Perhaps the police won’t question it further, but Angie’s past always has a way of catching up to her in Will Trent. The truth coming out would most assuredly cause more problems for Angie.

2
Will Amanda Become The Director Of The GBI In Will Trent Season 2?

During Will Trent season 1, episode 6, Amanda met with GBI Director Armstrong. He informed her that he was retiring and wanted her to be his replacement. However, Amanda later helped to expose corruption inside the GBI and the tech company they worked with, Selantus, and the case might have jeopardized her chances of getting promoted. Or, at the very least, Amanda won’t receive Armstrong’s endorsement when he retires.

Following the case, Amanda and Armstrong retained a strained relationship, and there was no update regarding the position of GBI director. Who ultimately gets this position could be determined in season 2, allowing Amanda to get the recognition she deserves. Such a promotion could have a dramatic change on the role she plays in the series.

Will Ormewood & His Wife Get A Divorce?

Whereas Will and Angie’s relationship is all about fighting, Ormewood’s marriage is based on lies and avoidance in Will Trent. Ormewood’s wife, Gina, only appeared in one season 1 episode, but her short-lived presence was enough to clue viewers in on her dynamic with Ormewood. Their marriage has survived this long because they don’t communicate their issues, and it’s only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down.

Gina invited Angie over to have dinner with herself, Ormewood, and their kids under the guise of wanting to get to know her husband’s new partner. However, she just wanted to confront Angie about sleeping with her husband. Gina knew all about their one-night stand, and it was obvious that Ormewood had no clue that his wife was privy to his infidelity. It’s possible that Will Trent season 2 will dig deeper into Gina and Ormewood’s relationship and that their blatant issues result in a divorce.
